Forklift Skills Challenge 2024

On September 14th, our annual Southern Oregon Forklift Skills Challenge took place at the Medford Complex. The Forklift Skills Challenge allows for our forklift drivers to gain recertification as well as participate in fun events, families included. There were yard games, an ice cream truck, swag bags, a barbeque, and a great raffle thanks to generous donations from our vendors.
This year’s competitions had varying levels of difficulties from getting a basketball into a hoop, to trying to knock pins down in a bowling style competition, to taking a water filled container and going through an obstacle course, ensuring rubber ducks didn’t fall out. While these competitions might have been difficult, our drivers handled it like champs! The 1st place win went to Robert H. of Grants Pass, a step up from his 2nd place title last year. 2nd place went to Daniel F. of Medford Plywood, and 3rd place went to Jason W. of Grants Pass. All three went home with a great prize, from a PS5, to a Blackstone grill, and even a Samsung TV.
The kids were able to get into the fun with being able to drive their own forklifts and truck style toy cars as well as getting their faces painted. It was great to have so many families show up, and we thank all the employees as well as volunteers who spent the day with us for this event. A special thanks to the donors, who contributed items to our raffle: Pepsi, Sierra Springs, Motion Industries, Grainger, DeepHow, Brazos Forest Products, Fessenden Hall Inc., MacBeath Hardwood, Roddis Lumber, Intermountain Wood Products, Fasteners Inc, Napa, Cowboy Plumbing and Commonwealth Plywood Distribution. We can’t wait for all the fun again next year!
